Surf Meerensee beach

Meerensee Beach - Hermanus Meerensee Beach features rivermouth waves that break both right and left over a sandy bottom. The waves can be hollow and fast, providing fun conditions, particularly during summer with a clean swell of 0.9 to 1.5 meters. The spot works best at low and mid tide, especially on a falling tide. Accessing Meerensee Beach involves a short walk from the Meerensee holiday resort, where you may need to inform security of your visit. While the beach is not private, caution is advised due to strong currents and the presence of sharks. The atmosphere is tranquil, often with no one else in the water. Ideal conditions occur in the early morning or with minimal offshore wind. Although not the most renowned surf spot, it can deliver classic waves under the right circumstances, especially in summer and occasionally in spring and August.
