Surf Leme

Leme - Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro Leme features a left-breaking sandbar wave that is known for its hollow and fast characteristics. This spot is best surfed at high tide and works well with east and south swells. It is relatively uncrowded compared to other nearby locations, making it a good option when the city’s surf spots are busy. Situated at the left extremity of Copacabana Beach, Leme offers instant access within a five-minute walk. The atmosphere is friendly, but respect for locals is essential, especially as body surfers often dominate the area. While the wave can be inconsistent, it can deliver fun barrels on the right day. Parking is available along Atlantica Avenue, directly in front of the surfable waves. Despite some changes to the bottom that have affected surf quality, Leme remains a viable option when other spots are flat or overcrowded.
