Surf La Machacona

La Machacona - Tenerife La Machacona is a powerful point break located on the south coast of Tenerife, characterized by its left and right-hand waves breaking over flat rocks. The wave is best surfed during glassy conditions and holds well on days with north winds. Access is challenging, requiring a 15-30 minute walk from the nearest point, and the wave is not visible from the highway. This surf spot is situated near El Medano, between the Shelters and the Dune, adjacent to a camping beach. While it remains relatively empty during the week, weekends attract a few surfers. The wave can be unpredictable, especially in summer when conditions may vary. Surfers should be cautious of rocks and respect the local vibe, as it can be a challenging environment for less experienced riders.
