La Machacona - Galicia
La Machacona features powerful, hollow waves breaking to the right over a rocky reef bottom. Located next to Burela in northern Galicia, it offers instant access with a short walk of less than 5 minutes. The spot is best surfed during low to mid tide, with optimal conditions when the swell comes from the north, northwest, or west, and the wind from the south, southwest, or southeast.
This surf spot is renowned for its challenging conditions, making it one of the top five in Galicia. While it typically sees few surfers during the week and on weekends, caution is advised, especially when the swell is large, as the sharp rocks can pose a danger. Surfers should be prepared for fast and powerful waves, ensuring they have the skills to navigate the reef safely.
