Gillis - California Gillis features fun reef waves breaking both right and left over a combination of coral and sharp rocks with sand. The spot is accessible with instant access (<5 min) from the pier located in front of Vista Del Mar, providing public access. This underrated surf spot offers decent conditions throughout the year, particularly favorable during low and mid tides with a falling tide. The optimal swell directions are from the Northwest, West, and Southwest, while the wind should ideally come from the Southeast, East, or Northeast. With few surfers present during the week and weekends, Gillis provides a more relaxed atmosphere for both surfers and bodyboarders. However, caution is advised due to the presence of rocks in the lineup.
