Surf El Claron

El Claron - Horcon, Chile El Claron is a left-point break characterized by fast and powerful waves, breaking over a sandy bottom interspersed with rocks. This surf spot is accessible via a short walk (5-15 minutes) from the town of Horcon, located just north of Valparaiso. It primarily works at low tide during falling tide conditions. The surfable areas are concentrated at the end of the point and the outer section, despite the appearance of a long pointbreak. The atmosphere is friendly, but localism can be an issue, so respect is essential. While it can get crowded on weekends, weekdays often see fewer surfers. Best suited for intermediate surfers, El Claron shines during the autumn and winter months when swells are more consistent. Be cautious of hidden rocks while paddling out, as they can pose a danger.
