Surf Crab Island

Crab Island - Gower Crab Island features a right-breaking reef wave over sharp rocks, known for its hollow, fast, and powerful characteristics. The spot is accessible within a 5-minute walk from the council car park, with public access available. Ideal conditions occur at low and mid tide, with optimal swell from the west and southwest, and favorable winds from the north and northeast. This surf spot is popular among experienced surfers seeking a challenge, often crowded on weekends. While parking is available at Langland, be prepared for local surfers familiar with the break. A quick left also breaks on the opposite side, but caution is advised due to strong rips that can pull surfers towards the rocks. First-time visitors should paddle out in front of the rocky mound and avoid taking off on the peak, opting instead to sit on the shoulder for a safer experience.
