Description
County Line - California
County Line, also known as Yerba Buena Beach, features a right-breaking beach break with a sandy and rocky bottom. The waves are generally powerless, making it suitable for various skill levels, but caution is advised due to the dangerous conditions. The spot works at all tides, with optimal conditions during rising and falling tides.
Located just north of the Ventura/L.A. county line, County Line offers scenic views and a less developed atmosphere compared to urban surf spots. Parking is convenient along Highway 1 near Yerba Buena Road, close to Neptune's Net. While the beach can get ultra crowded, especially on weekends, savvy surfers can still find waves throughout the year, particularly in the fall. With variable swell directions from the southwest, south, and northwest, this spot accommodates different board types, including shortboards and longboards. Be prepared for chilly water temperatures, and dress accordingly with a full suit, booties, and a hood.
