Surf Coombesgate Beach

Coombesgate Beach - Woolacombe, North Devon Coombesgate Beach features a fun beach break with both right and left waves, characterized by a sandy bottom interspersed with rocks. The spot is best surfed at mid tide, particularly during a push, and can handle swells of 1.2 to 1.5 meters (4-5 ft). Access is straightforward, with a short walk from the RED BARN restaurant. Located at the northern end of Woolacombe, this beach offers a relaxed atmosphere, making it suitable for surfers of all levels. The area is less crowded than nearby Croyde, allowing for a more enjoyable experience. The beach is accessible via steps from the main road, but caution is advised at mid-high tide due to submerged rocks. Woolacombe is known for its autumn surf season, particularly from September to November, making it an ideal time to visit for optimal conditions. After a session, the RED BARN provides excellent post-surf refreshments.
