Surf Coast Guard House

Coast Guard House - Rhode Island Coast Guard House features a right-breaking reef wave over a boulder bottom, ideal for experienced surfers. This heavy local spot only works at high tide with a clean northwest wind and requires a minimum swell height of 1.5 meters (5 feet). The wave is known for its hollow, fast, and powerful characteristics, making it a challenging surf experience. Located near Narragansett Beach, this spot is less crowded than its popular neighbor, especially in winter when conditions are more favorable. Access involves a short walk from the sea wall to the Coast Guard House restaurant, where surfers can paddle out to line up with the towers. While the wave is primarily surfed by locals, it can be dangerous due to rips, undertow, and rocky hazards.
