The spot is accessible within a 5-minute walk from Almadena, where you can find the old castle and look east. It works well at all tides, with ordinary to fun wave power. This surf spot is known for its welcoming atmosphere, attracting a diverse crowd of surfers, primarily Portuguese, English, and Germans. The best conditions occur during the winter season when nearby Zavial can be too big to surf. With rising and falling tides, the waves are best enjoyed with north to northeast winds and swells from the southwest to southeast. While the weekdays are typically empty, expect a few surfers on weekends. Be cautious of rocks in the water, which can pose a danger.
