Surf Bay Head

Bay Head - New Jersey Bay Head features a sandy bottom with waves breaking both right and left over a sandbar. This spot works at all tides, particularly during a rising tide, and typically sees few surfers during the week but can become crowded on weekends. Located along the New Jersey coast, Bay Head offers a mile-long stretch of beach, providing ample space even when the surf scene gets busy. The local vibe can be intense, especially during peak swell conditions, and parking may pose challenges in summer. The area around Bridge Ave features longer jetties, which can create excellent tube riding opportunities when the sand is optimal. For a more relaxed experience, it's advisable to surf early or on less crowded days, as the influx of surfers can lead to a hectic atmosphere, particularly on south swells.
