Surf Assateague

Assateague - Maryland Assateague features a beach break with sandy bottoms, offering both right and left waves. The spot can handle larger swells compared to nearby Ocean City breaks, with mushy outside takeoffs that become hollow on inside sandbars. It works best at low and mid tide, particularly during rising tide conditions. This picturesque location is renowned for its natural beauty, with wild ponies and deer often seen roaming the pristine beach. While it can get crowded with beachgoers in the summer, it becomes much quieter after Labor Day, making fall the ideal time to visit. Be cautious of rips and undertows, especially in heavy surf. Access is easy, with public parking available, and the spot is generally empty during the week, attracting only a few surfers on weekends.
