Description
CTR Malaga is no longer an official paragliding site.
Altitude: 780 meters, Height Difference: 223 meters, medium difficulty.
In the past, it was regularly used and offered good cross-country flying opportunities.
Region: Andalusia, Spain. The site record is 51.8 km.
Caution: The wind can be significantly stronger just 20 meters above the launch site, making flying impossible. If you hear the bushes rustling loudly ("the mountain sings"), reconsider your launch.
Top landing on the parking lot above is possible but not easy.
Abdalajis offers flying opportunities in almost all wind directions except east. Most flights occur in the late afternoon, often until sunset. The launch sites are usually accessible with regular rental cars, but after rain, the clay ground can become very slippery.
There are three areas: "la Capilla," "Levante," and "Poniente." Levante and Poniente are actually terms for wind directions, and you will hear these terms at other flying sites in Spain as well.
Flight regulation: At 5500 feet/QNH and above, there is airline traffic (approach to Malaga with no or southerly winds at the coast).
