Conditions Optimales
Description
Military airspace is closed. No flying is allowed in LP R60A airspace between the surface and 4000 feet, from Nazaré to near Figueira da Foz. Violating this airspace is a serious aeronautical infraction and can result in large fines. For more information, visit [Cavok Portugal](https://cavok.pt/fuaflex/fua-portugal/).
The platform is currently in poor condition with nails and splinters. It is advisable to ask locals about airspace regulations, as flying might be tolerated but is not officially permitted. The platform is large and occasionally used for soaring, with a WNW launch to the north.
Region: Leiria, Portugal. The site record is 19.7 km. For more information, visit [Rotas do Vento](http://rotasdovento.com/gca/?id=115) and [SkyXplorer](https://www.skyxplorer.com/zonas-de-voo/).
Access: The site can be accessed via paved roads, with entry from the north through the road from S. Pedro de Moel and from the south through the road from Pataias or Nazaré.
Takeoff: There are two main takeoff areas. One faces SW, is sandy, not very long but wide. The other faces NW, with excellent conditions, being quite wide and long with a progressive slope, making takeoffs smooth.
Flight: Mainly dynamic. With wind from the north or southwest, the flight path is quite limited.
Landing: Landing on the beach is easy due to the extensive sandy area. Top-landing is also accessible.
Retrieval: If landing on the beach, pilots usually walk a short distance back to the takeoff area, with the option to drive up. For the south side, pilots typically walk up a short distance (about 150 meters). For the north side, pilots must climb the dune as there is no vehicle access to the beach. With zero wind, it is easy to make sustained flights, covering several kilometers along the coast. Round trips to S. Pedro de Moel are quite feasible. Flying is generally possible throughout the year.
