Taucho stands at an altitude of approximately 760 metres above the sea level. The total surface that can be used as a take-off ramp and preparation area covers 5,600 square metres. This paragliding site is commonly used when the winds at that altitude come from the west and the south.
Taucho is the most popular take-off in the island of Tenerife. This is due to the large number of days that it remains operational, thanks to the excellent climate that reigns in the south of the island during the whole year. It is common to receive many groups of pilots every year from different parts of Europe during the winter, since the area is famous for its thermal activity which is very conducive to paragliding.
In respect of the degree of difficulty, we have to say that it changes depending on many factors, as the time of the day. When it is early and late in the day, the degree of difficulty can be low to intermediate, intermediate, or even high level. At midday, the degree of difficulty can be intermediate or high level.
The take-off slope is not very steep — this means that it doesn’t have much inclination, so we strongly recommend you to take-off only when the wind blows.
The landing points associated to Taucho are the esplanade of Taucho-Armeñime, which is located in Costa Adeje. And just like Ifonche, La Caleta beach, located in Costa Adeje too. As we have said before, this beach is the perfect landing point for this paragliding site during a long whole year. Once you have finished, you will have the chance to enjoy an iced mojito in Coqueluche bar.
We remember you once again that the conditions to take off and landing are not always the same, they may change depending on different factors as the weather — above all the wind — or a possible refurbishment work in the area.

Flight regulation :
Landing on the (sand) beach in Costa Adeje (N28.092 W16.745) is strictly prohibited and controlled by local police to avoid injuries of people on the beach.
Landing on rocky black beach westwards (N28.0924 W16.7466) or even pirate beach (N28.0976 W16.7515) is tolerated (but probably not legal either).

Naturstart nach Westen - flach / relativ einfach.
Liegt im Südwesten von Teneriffa. Auf der TF1 an Los Cristianos vorbei wieder Richtung Norden. Ist für mich hier so was wie Andelsbuch. Wenn es sonst nirgends auf der Insel geht, hier geht es. Meist kann hier im Lee geflogen werden wenn es überregionalen starken Ostwind gibt.
Accesos:
Ctra de Adeje hacia Los Gigantes, desvío a la dcha. dirección Taucho, dejar los vehículos al final de la vía y caminar hasta el despegue alrededor de 15 mn.
Taucho ist ein Gebiet für Botanikliebhaber die sich für Kakteen mit Stacheln von bis zu 5 cm interessieren! Präzises Landen vorausgesetzt findet man hier ein wirklich ideales Fluggelände.
Der Startplatz am Taucho wurde im Dezember 2005 aufwendig hergerichtet. Inzwischen ist dort Platz für bis zu 20 Gleitschirme. Dadurch ist es einfach zu starten und ein Genuß zum Toplanden.
Auch die Einheimischen nutzen die guten Bedingungen, es wurden schon kanarische Meisterschaften ausgetragen. Der Landeplatz bei der Disco Tropicana ist vom Startplatz aus gut sichtbar.
Bei guten Bedingungen ist es möglich, bis zum Strand vor zu fliegen und an der Beachbar den Tag ausklingen zu lassen.
Auch wenn Ihr es Euch zutraut,: Hebt trotzdem nicht ohne Einweisung ab! Ab Mittag bis zum frühen Abend sollet Ihr Euch eher Wässern. Verlagert das Soaren eher in die Abendstunden. Klassisch gelangt Ihr in den Süden nach 'Roque de los Brezos' und bis runter nach 'Los Christianos.' Im Norden könnt Ihr eventuell 'Guia de Isora' erreichen.
Schwierigkeit
Von November bis März herrschen gute Flugbedingungen, im Sommer ist es eher sportlich.

Fliegertreff:An der Disco Tropicana, dem Hauptlandeplatz treffen sich die Einheimischen. Dort kann man sich über die Zufahrt zum Startplatz und die aktuellen Flugbedingungen informieren.
Ohne Ortskenntnisse ist der Startlpatz schwierig zu finden.
Man sollte sich klar sein, dass man hier (SW-Startrichtung) meist im Lee fliegt - und warum. Daher ist eine Einweisung wirklich sinnvoll.
LP: 1) Neben oder hinter dem Einkaufszentrum nähe Autobahn. Ändert sich ständig. Auf jeden Fall nachfragen. Windfahne war im Oktober 2004 vorhanden. Es kann auch bis zum Strand geflogen werden wenn der Wind nicht zu stark ist.
2) Es gibt auch ein weiterer Landeplatz nördlich von Adeje der benutzt wird wenn der Wind zu stark ist und es nicht mehr über die Autobahn reicht.
