Description
Located at an altitude of 1044 meters with a height difference of approximately 650 meters, this paragliding site features a long ridge oriented NNW. It is frequently used due to its easy access and proximity to the city. While there are few flight logs, the site is utilized almost every flyable day, primarily for soaring and thermal flying. Sometimes, conditions are better over the city than at the ridge. The site also supports some cross-country flying and numerous commercial tandem flights. Pilots can soar the ridge, fly north or south, and even complete small triangular routes.
Access to the site is by car. Note that there is no official landing zone, so it is advisable to ask locals for guidance.
The take-off point is relatively small and situated on top of a 1050-meter mountain called 'Vodno,' overlooking the capital city of Skopje. The last 5 kilometers to the take-off point are on a dirt road, accessible by any car, though a 4WD is preferable. At the top, there is a large mountain lodge offering tea and coffee, and a notable 74-meter-high cross, which holds a Guinness World Record.
