Paragliding Santomeri

Santomeri, located 40km from Patra, Greece, offers a fantastic paragliding experience. The take-off point is at an altitude of 520 meters, with coordinates UTM 34S550717-4204858. This site is best flown with West-Northwest winds, typically from spring to autumn. To reach Santomeri, travel via the national motorway Patra-Pyrgos, passing the industrial zone and the prison of St Stephan. The road is paved except for the last 2 km, which is a well-maintained dirt road. The take-off area overlooks a beautiful valley and has a good inclination, allowing three paragliders to launch simultaneously. There are accommodations and a small tavern nearby for convenience. Santomeri is known for its excellent thermal currents along the mountain crest, providing stunning views of the west Peloponnese and the Ionian islands. Cross-country flights are possible, with routes extending southeast towards Skaidovouni, Erimantho, Helmo, and Ziria. This site has hosted numerous competitions organized by the Paragliding Club of Patras. The site record for the longest flight in Greece, from Santomeri to Asprokampbos, was achieved here.
