Description
A new launch site in Østerdalen with a primary wind direction from the northeast. Suitable for all skill levels, with a large landing area at Mykleby. The launch area is covered with heather and grass, providing a smooth and even surface.
From Elverum, drive approximately 70 km north along highway 3 in Østerdalen to Mykleby. Continue for about 2-3 km until you reach Birkebeinerveien, turn left and pay the toll. Drive approximately 2.5 km up Birkebeinerveien until you reach Storbekkvollen, then turn left and drive to the parking area at 630 meters above sea level (suitable for 2-wheel drive). Walk along the tractor road up through the logging area until you reach the yellow-marked trail, then turn right. This trail leads directly to the launch site and is in very good condition.
If you have a 4-wheel drive vehicle, you can drive all the way up to the top of the logging area at 750 meters above sea level.
You can also launch from the south side of the mountain if the winds are coming from the south. Note: If you have thin lines, be cautious as this is not the best launch site in the world.
