Ratzi, located above Spiringen in the Schächental, offers a paragliding experience that is often overlooked. The take-off site is situated at an elevation of 1610 meters and is easily accessible via a cable car from Spiringen. From the top station, it's a short 10-minute walk to the launch area, which is a moderately steep meadow. Please note that the launch site should only be used during vegetation-free periods. The take-off window faces south, making it an ideal spot for early-season thermals. When conditions are favorable, you can enjoy spectacular flights over the Windgällen or the Klausenpass. The density of cable cars in this area is similar to that in the Engelberg Valley, so be cautious of hay wires and cables. Flights to the neighboring Bürglen and back are highly recommended. Winter launches are particularly advisable due to restricted permissions during the growing season and the presence of the upper ski lift.
