Description
Located in Albstadt-Tailfingen, Germany, this paragliding site has an elevation of 975 meters and a height difference of 266 meters. It is rarely used but offers potential for cross-country flights. The site record is 85.3 km.
Managed by the Plettenberger Delta-Flieger e. V., the Plettenberg site has a rich history, first flown by hang gliders in 1976. Due to its location within a nature reserve, strict regulations are in place: no guest pilots are allowed, and flying is prohibited between January 1st and July 31st unless an exception is granted by conservation authorities, typically if no peregrine falcons are nesting in the area. Currently, there is an ongoing trial program for club paragliding pilots as of July 2010.
