Best Conditions
Description
The Kiental region in Switzerland is a lesser-known paragliding site, primarily due to its encirclement by mountains, which limits the potential for long-distance flights. However, it offers a unique advantage: it remains flyable when weather conditions hinder other sites. The wind-protected and fog-free valley makes it an ideal spot for those who prefer solitary flights.
Kiental is accessible from Reichenbach and features a chairlift from Kiental to Ramslauenen, operational in both summer and winter with very affordable fares. The area is frequently used by local paragliding schools for training purposes. For more information on local paragliding schools, visit [Flybeo](http://www.flybeo.ch) and [Flugbasis](http://www.flugbasis.ch/).
The launch site is a steep meadow located just a few minutes from the top station. The best flying conditions are typically in the morning. The site is somewhat weather-protected due to its lower altitude compared to the surrounding Alpine giants.
Important: The Ramslauenen launch site is within the controlled airspace of Reichenbach airfield (5km radius). After launching, fly right up the valley towards the Kiental landing zone.
