Description
The paragliding site at Sattel in Switzerland, located above the Ägerisee, offers a medium difficulty level with an elevation of 1140 meters. This site is occasionally used and is suitable for soaring, particularly in Bise conditions. Top landing is possible, and there is an option to stay overnight at the mountain inn. It is advisable to ask for parking permission beforehand.
The take-off area is oriented to the east and is a steep, slightly hilly meadow. Coordinates for the take-off point are 8.61504696, 47.10247489, and it is just a 1-minute walk from the parking area. To reach the take-off spot, drive approximately 600 meters from Sattel towards Ägeri, then turn left and continue to Ramenegg.
The landing area can be challenging for delta gliders due to its short length in low wind conditions and turbulence in strong Bise winds near the buildings.
Ramenegg is a lesser-known but easily accessible site by car, ideal for Bise soaring. The best conditions occur when the Bise blows from a very easterly direction, allowing for excellent soaring above the Ägerisee and easy top landing. Halsegg, another nearby site, often provides thermal conditions in spring, even when general thermal conditions are poor.
