Take-offs:
North: From the parking area, follow the path that descends through the trees to reach a meadow suitable for take-off.
South: Pass by the antennas and cross the wire fence marking the border. You can take off from the meadow about 100 meters to the right of the antennas or, by following the fence a bit further, from the meadows along the ridge.
Landings:
North: Land in the village of Sureda.
South: To avoid a long return trip if landing at the bottom, you can land in the meadow on the ridge descending from the antennas to the left, about 100 meters down, or at the take-off point if conditions allow. At the bottom, there are a couple of fields near the Requesens Castle, one just below the castle on the north side and another slightly to the east.
Access:
Take the A-7 highway, exit at La Jonquera, or the N-II road to La Jonquera. Continue towards France, passing customs and the border. At the end of the village of Le Perthus, already in France, take the road to the right marked "Coll de l鈥橴llat" and "L鈥橝lbera." Follow the paved road past the restaurant at Coll de l鈥橴llat until you reach the antennas, where you can park.
For the south landing, take the N-II and turn at the Cantallops junction (about 4 km south of La Jonquera). Once in Cantallops, cross the village and follow the track to Requesens Castle (approx. 6 km). At the bridge, if you don't cross it, you'll reach the cantina; if you do cross it, you'll head towards the landing fields, one via the upper track and another via the lower track.
Notes:
Be cautious of thermal winds in summer. They can accelerate significantly in this area and may prevent you from reaching the lower landing fields.
Flight altitude ranges between 1000 meters (North) and 800 meters (South) of elevation difference. Good thermal possibilities. The entire area is forested, except for the meadows on the ridges and the two or three landing fields.
