Description
Located in Alto Adige, Italy, this paragliding site offers an elevation range of 1560-1660 meters with a height difference of 560-660 meters. It is frequently used and provides good cross-country (XC) possibilities with various takeoff options. Before flying, it is recommended to ask the local farmer or other pilots for permission.
In the Pfalzen (Falzes) region, also in Italy, the site has a record flight distance of 178.8 km. Pfalzen is a traditional flying area where hang gliders have been active since the late 1970s. The village of Pfalzen is situated on a sunny terrace above Bruneck. There is a beautiful takeoff spot at the end of the road, and pilots must pay a start fee of 3 Euros at the local farm owned by Frieda. The site features a wooden ramp for hang gliders and a large landing area near the sports field. Occasionally, ultralight aircraft also take off from here. Pfalzen is an excellent starting point for cross-country flights, especially in the spring. The area is also used by flight schools, such as AFS Flugschule Bad Wildungen. The site is managed by the Drachenflieger Club in Pfalzen.
At the western beginning of the Hochpustertal, pilots can achieve cross-country flights ranging from 50 to 100 km. Visiting pilots should always ask the local farmer for permission and possibly pay a small fee. It is crucial not to take off before the grass is mowed; in such cases, ask local pilots for alternative takeoff spots.

To reach the site, take the country road No. 621 from Bruneck towards Sand in Taufers and follow the signs to Pfalzen before the industrial area. In Pfalzen, follow the signs towards Platten for about 6 km. The takeoff area is on a meadow slope above the houses. Guests must ask for permission as it is private land.
The site offers a good entry point for cross-country flights along the Pustertal with views of the Dolomites. There is a large landing meadow next to the sports fields in Pfalzen. Emergency landing spots include meadows and fields at the base of the slope. Be cautious of dangerous conditions during north winds.
