Parapente Pelican Butte Caldera, OR

Pelican Butte, standing at 2444 meters with a height difference of 1000 meters, offers a medium-difficult paragliding experience. This site is rarely used but provides scenic soaring opportunities. Accessible by car via a fire lookout road, it is designated as a P4 site. The launch area consists of a steep caldera slope with loose gravel scree and a few flat spots on top. Strong winds are essential for ridge soaring and top landing. Located in the USA, Pelican Butte is an east-facing caldera rim above Rocky Point, Oregon. The site record is 6.1 km.
