Conditions Optimales
Description
Located in South Trøndelag, Norway, this paragliding site in Oppdal offers a year-round flying experience with good soaring and thermal conditions. The takeoff altitude ranges between 1070-1110 meters. The site is occasionally used and some cross-country flights are possible. There are multiple takeoff options available.
The site is conveniently situated right by the E6 highway, making it easily accessible. From the lift, it's only a 100-200 meter walk to the takeoff point. You can land on a field next to where the lift starts, but during the growing season, you must land next to the road or coordinate with the farmer.
The lift (ski lift/gondola) provides easy access to the takeoff, and the starting conditions are excellent just a few meters from the lift. Landing conditions near the lift are generally good, although they can sometimes be a bit turbulent. During the growing season, it's advisable to land near the main road if possible, ensuring no livestock are grazing there. The parking lot can also be used for landing if it's empty, but be aware that it's small and surrounded by buildings and trees, making it a bit challenging.
Be cautious of wave activity (lenticular clouds) that can form with southern winds exceeding 5-6 m/s at 800 hPa.
