Description
Les Pléiades, located in the Swiss Prealps and overlooking Lake Geneva in the canton of Vaud, is a popular paragliding site. The mountain stands at 1,397 meters, with a secondary summit at 1,361 meters accessible by a railway operated by Transports Montreux–Vevey–Riviera, connecting Vevey and Blonay.
The take-off site is situated at an elevation of 1,532 meters. It is oriented to the east and is known for its thermal conditions and Bise wind situations, making it an easy launch site. The coordinates for the take-off site are 7.463225126266, 46.748572725266. There is no cable car available, so you will need to walk for about 20 minutes from the nearest bus stop.
To reach the take-off site, take a post bus or drive to the 'Oberer Gurnigel' bus stop. From there, walk towards the triangulation point. The launch area is a beautiful meadow, ideal for paragliding.
