Conditions Optimales
Description
Located in Italy, this paragliding site offers a medium-altitude launch at 931 meters. It is occasionally used and provides good soaring opportunities with the potential for cross-country (XC) flights. The site features multiple takeoff options and allows for toplanding nearby.
The best time to fly here is during winter, when it is accessible all day. In summer, flying is recommended only until 13:00 due to changing wind conditions. The site is suitable for both beginners and experienced pilots, with the possibility of catching thermals and even making cross-country flights towards Trento under optimal conditions.
To reach the site, follow these directions: From the landing area, head towards Lake Garda, then turn right at Loppio towards Val di Gresta. After passing through San Felice, turn right towards Manzano and continue to Nomesino. Cross the village and turn left at the small chapel. After about 2 km, you will reach Corniano, where you can park. The takeoff point is a 5-minute walk downhill from the parking area.
For those driving, exit the A22 Brennero motorway at Rovereto South and follow signs for Riva del Garda. At Loppio, turn right towards Valle di Gresta, following signs for Ronzo-Chienis. Stop at Valle San Felice, then take the road to Manzano and Nomesino. Continue through the main square of Nomesino, turn left at the chapel, and follow the narrow road with steep turns until you reach Corniano. Park near the old stone houses and take the dirt path to the takeoff point.
The site faces south and is flyable with morning easterly breezes and early afternoon westerly winds from Lake Garda. However, avoid flying if the winds are too strong or at an unsafe angle. The official landing area is located before reaching the takeoff point, near Mori. Morning breezes are easterly, shifting to stronger westerly winds in the afternoon, making it advisable for novice pilots to land before the winds pick up.
