The site of Chatel is a rounded, grassy summit located at the northern end of the Obiou chain. It offers various take-off orientations depending on the aerology and weather conditions. The altitude allows for long flights in calm air, especially in autumn when the thermals are more generous. The breathtaking view from the take-off is generally appreciated by all.
The flight requires a short hike of 20 to 30 minutes, depending on physical fitness. This hike allows you to enjoy the beauty of Chatel and observe the surrounding massifs, including the Ecrins and the Taillefer Massif to the east, the Plateau Matheysin and the Monestier de Clermont valley to the north, and the entire Vercors Massif to the west.
During the season, there is significant professional tandem traffic.
