Conditions Optimales
Description
Takeoff is located at coordinates 45°39'50.86"N, 11°12'38.01"E, with an altitude of approximately 1600 meters. From the end of the chairlift, head down the ski slope, keeping to the right for 300-400 meters. The takeoff faces the southwest side, opposite the chairlift. Under certain wind conditions, you can also take off from the ski slope on the north side, about 600 meters north from the main takeoff point.
Landing options include a spacious area at the basin where the chairlift starts, at an altitude of 1000 meters. Alternatively, you can land in the valley floor of Recoaro in a field near the bar 'Giorgetti' at coordinates 45°42.090'N, 11°12.264'E. If the grass is high, consider landing in the riverbed or on the soccer field on the other side of the river. Both landing sites are on the northeast side of Recoaro. If you take off towards the southwest, you need to gain some altitude to pass over the ridge; otherwise, follow the ridge to your left and head south down into the valley. There is also a landing field at coordinates 45°39.712'N, 11°17.377'E, with many other landable fields before reaching this point.
To get there, you can take the cableway from Recoaro town center to Recoaro Mille, then travel 2 km by shuttle bus, followed by a chairlift to Montefalcone. Alternatively, you can drive on the road from Valdagno to Recoaro. Just before the village of S. Quirico, turn left to Recoaro Mille, park there, and take the chairlift to Montefalcone. Always check if the chairlift is operational before heading up. If you prefer, you can also walk up, which takes about one to one and a half hours, following the ski slope.
This southwest-facing takeoff is ideal for late afternoon flights, allowing you to enjoy mild thermodynamic soaring conditions.
