Conditions Optimales
Description
Located in Toscolano Maderno, Italy, this paragliding site offers takeoff altitudes ranging from 1160 to 1300 meters, with landing altitudes between 753 and 1200 meters. The site is known for its ease of use and is regularly frequented by paragliders. It provides opportunities for soaring and some cross-country (XC) flights, all while enjoying beautiful scenery.
The main takeoff point allows for toplanding and can be accessed via a shuttle or another authorized vehicle from Albergo Colomber. This mountain is ideal for short panoramic flights and commercial tandem flights (biposto).
For those who prefer flying directly over the lake, it is possible to reach Toscolano Maderno from the same takeoff used for the Gardone Riviera flight field. Toscolano offers a landing beach over 200 meters long and up to 40 meters wide, known as 'Lido degli Ulivi,' near the paper mill. If you plan to use this landing spot, you must contact the Volere Volare school and always be cautious of beachgoers. Note that hang glider landings are not permitted during the summer, except for official events when the beach is reserved for landings.
Another takeoff option is Monte Pizzoccolo, which has a vertical drop of about 1300 meters to the landing area. Only authorized vehicles can reach the takeoff point, usually starting from Albergo Colomber on weekends.
For tandem flights, you can contact [Garda Paragliding](http://www.gardaparagliding.com).
Meeting point for pilots is at Hotel Colomber in San Michele from 11:00 AM on weekends. Directions to the site: From Gardone Riviera, Salo, or Maderno, follow signs to San Michele. Hotel Colomber is well-marked. At the hotel, ask for Ignazio or contact him directly at +39 347 2284361 or ignazio@icaro2000.com. More information can be found [here](http://www.icaro2000.com/Scuola/Ignazio/scuola-Ignazio-it.htm).
To reach the site, take the BRESCIA EST exit from the A4 motorway, head towards SALO' via the SS 45bis road. After passing the Salo' sign, continue on the SS 45bis for another 2 km. Turn left at the sign for the panoramic road (via Serniga) leading to S. Michele. After 8 km, follow signs to Albergo Colomber. The training field is located behind the hotel.
The hotel also features a large landing field. There is an additional landing spot directly at Lake Garda in Toscolano, but prior instruction and authorization are recommended. Access to the takeoff is usually available on weekends with a Jeep for €10, or by arrangement for groups. The takeoff site is simple and thermally active, but ensure you plan sufficient altitude for landing as there are no alternative landing options.
