Description
Located in Quebec, Canada, this paragliding site offers an elevation of 323 meters with a height difference of 100 meters, making it an easy spot for beginners and those looking to practice. It's a walk-and-fly site that is rarely used, but it provides good conditions for soaring and training.
The takeoff area is large and oriented south, with additional takeoff options to the southeast and southwest. There are three possible landing zones: the furthest is a large field 700 meters from the takeoff, but it can be challenging to reach if you lose too much height near the mountain. Another landing zone is directly in front of the takeoff, about 600 meters away. The last landing zone is near the mountain, situated between two roads and electric wires, requiring extra caution.
To access the site, take Route 117 north to Mont-Laurier, then turn left onto Route 309 south and drive approximately 15 kilometers to St-Aimé-du-Lac-des-Îles. Turn right onto Chemin Pelneault and continue for about 300 meters.
Please note that you need to ask for permission from the mountain's owner and sign a waiver before flying. The best flying conditions are with southeast winds between 15-20 km/h.
