Description

The Moléson site in Switzerland is a popular spot for experienced paragliders, offering excellent opportunities for cross-country flights. The site is particularly suitable under south-west to north-west wind conditions. Access to the launch site is convenient, thanks to a funicular and a cable car that take you to the summit at 2,002 meters in just 10 minutes. There are two main take-off points: 1. South-west at 1,980 meters, located after the restaurant. 2. North-west at 2,002 meters, near the triangulation point. The launch area is a steep meadow, and there are various summit launch options near the mountain station. The directions for take-off are: 1. 292.5° - 337.5° 2. 202.5° - 247.5° The walk to the launch site takes about 5-10 minutes. Moléson is the second flying mountain of the valley village Moléson-Village. With an altitude just over 2,000 meters, it is slightly more challenging to fly than the more weather-protected La Vudella. However, the beautiful launch meadows and the potential for soaring under thermal influence make it a rewarding experience. Landing can be tricky due to rough valley winds and obstacles like cables, making it more suitable for skilled pilots.
