The site offers a height range of 118-138 meters above sea level, with a height difference of 120 meters. It is regularly used for walk & fly and local soaring. It features an idyllic ridge in Lofoten with a view towards Nappstraumen. You can top-land multiple times if conditions allow. The walk to the site is relatively short, and the area is covered in grassy moraine hills, making it a beautiful spot. Remember to notify the Leknes tower when flying (phone: 67033880). Both hang gliding and paragliding are equally possible in this area near Bodø. There is a 130-meter height difference between the takeoff and landing zones. Hornheia is a crescent-shaped hill, perfect for playing around. It offers perfectly channeled wind, is obstacle-free, and is flyable 24 hours a day during the midnight sun.
