Kronplatz, located in Trentino-Suedtirol, Italy, offers a paragliding experience with an elevation of 2214 meters and a height difference of 1150 meters. This site is regularly used and provides good soaring conditions with some potential for cross-country flights. The take-off area is conveniently situated next to the mountain station. Kronplatz is particularly suitable for flying in northern wind directions, except during Föhn conditions. Despite being on the north side, the plateau generates powerful thermals, making it flyable even with a normal north wind. There is a large landing area available. In the evenings, when the wind weakens or shifts to a more northerly component, Kronplatz offers optimal take-off opportunities. The site is also popular for skiing, featuring wide, gentle carving slopes that are perfect for letting loose. During the winter season, Kronplatz is especially favored. The mountain is somewhat isolated, making direct connections for cross-country flights challenging. However, there are multiple take-off directions available, including south, northeast, and northwest, all easily accessible from the mountain station.

There are also other take-off directions, such as southwest and west, which offer good thermals from the basin but are slightly more challenging for take-off and flight. Note that landing options to the south are scarce. For flights, Kronplatz is a winter flying site, ideal for dynamic soaring in weak to moderate north winds, even in summer. However, opportunities for cross-country flights are limited. Landing is typically done on grassy areas at the base of the slope near the valley station of the Kronplatzbahn in Reischach. Be aware that there is no windsock. Additional emergency landing fields are available at the base of the slope. Caution is advised in stronger south winds.
