Description

At an elevation of 1972 meters with a height difference of 540 meters, this site in Nevada, USA, is regularly used and offers good thermal soaring and cross-country (XC) potential. Landing below or on the leeside, such as on Lake Tahoe at Nevada Beach, is possible, but it's recommended to aim for XC flights from here. You can drive up to the site and then walk for about 5 minutes to reach the launch area. Make sure to catch your first thermal promptly. The takeoff area has a nice setup with a steep dirt slope and small rocks. Be aware of the tree obstacle immediately after launch. Landing options are limited and challenging, so plan accordingly. The weather at this site is highly active, with unstable conditions ideal after a frontal passage. There are no specific restrictions, but the site is known for its turbulent and demanding air conditions, making it one of the most serious sites in the area. Hazards include trees below the launch, limited emergency landing zones, and potential conflicts with landowners if you choose a poor landing zone in the valley. Weather can be unpredictable, so it's best to be guided through this site. For more information, you can check out the following links: - [YouTube Video](
