Description
At an altitude of 1823 meters with a height difference of 1219 meters, the Käserstatt launch site is located directly at the mountain station and is occasionally used. Cross-country flights are possible from here.

Landing Zones:
1. Meiringen near Restaurant du Pont at 601 meters.
2. Innertkirchen at 631 meters, with medium difficulty due to valley winds and rotors.
Special Considerations:
- Military Airfield Meiringen
- Heliport Innertkirchen
- TMA Alpnach
Meiringen is a beautiful flying area suitable for beginners, as most launch sites are relatively easy. Launches can be made from Reuti, Käserstatt, Chüemad, and Planplatten. It is ideal during stable high-pressure conditions with little wind. The cable cars operate in both summer and winter (Käserstatt and Planplatten).
However, the Haslital region has a significant drawback for tourism and paragliding: the military airfield Meiringen, located in the middle of the valley, which greatly restricts flying in the Hasliberg area. It is crucial to adhere to the regulations and instructions from the military airfield Meiringen. The entire flying area is within the HX zone of the military airfield, meaning it can be activated at any time, even on weekends. Therefore, it is essential to check if the military airfield is active before each flight in the Haslital.
For information, call the military airfield info line at 0800496347 (English/German) or use the radio frequency 130.150 MHz (English/German). Flying within the active CTR/TMA is only permitted with constant radio contact on frequency 135.475. If activated, the HX TMA must be vacated immediately. Each pilot is responsible for staying informed and following the rules. Violations can be dangerous and costly.
The landing zone outside the village near Restaurant du Pont can be quite challenging depending on the wind. Strong valley winds can reach speeds over 30 km/h. Descend over the village of Meiringen and avoid flying into the Aare Gorge, as there are no landing options there.
The Bidmi Hasliberg landing zone is only suitable in winter. The Innertkirchen landing zone can only be approached from the east due to the Heliport Innertkirchen 'Schatenhalb'. Be cautious of strong valley wind rotors behind the Aare Gorge. The Lauen-Brienz and Aaregg-Brienz landing zones are suitable year-round.
Respect wildlife protection areas.
Käserstatt Launch Site:
Take the cable car from Alpbach to Reuti Hasliberg, then take the bus towards Twing Badsee, and finally the gondola towards Käserstatt. This launch site is less frequently used as it is not as conveniently accessible as Planplatten and is situated at a lower altitude of 1820 meters. The launch is from a steep meadow southeast of the Käserstatt mountain station in a forest clearing facing southwest. The clearing is relatively short at 50 meters.
The landing zone is a large meadow outside the village of Meiringen at the end of the Aare Gorge. Depending on the weather and time of day, this simple landing zone can become quite challenging due to the strong suction effect created by the narrowing of the Aare Gorge on thermal days or with medium to strong valley winds. Descend over the village of Meiringen to avoid being driven into the Aare Gorge, where wind speeds can exceed 30 km/h. Land in the mowed part of the meadow if possible. After a strenuous flight, you can refresh yourself with a cool drink and a snack at Restaurant du Pont.
