Parapente Jumilla Sierra del Buey Caudete 2

Located in Spain, this paragliding site offers a takeoff altitude of 1170 meters with a southeast orientation. The height difference is approximately 280 meters. The site is regularly used and cross-country flights are possible, with a site record of 68.7 km. To access the takeoff from Caudete, start from the main road crossing Caudete on Avenida de Valencia. Turn left at the industrial warehouses and follow the road past a glass recycling plant. Continue under a bridge and at the end of the road, turn right into a clearing. Be cautious as the landing area is on a slope, but it is spacious before and after the line crossing it. To reach the takeoff, after passing the bridge, turn left, then right at the stop sign, and follow the right road for 2 km. At a large stone with an olive tree, turn left and continue for 7 km. At the next fork, turn right, pass through the 'Granillo' village, and after 1 km, turn right again following the Sierra Oliva sign. The last section is paved, and at the top, turn right to reach a small hut where you can park. Walk 100 meters along a path to the takeoff, which has a ramp for hang gliders. Alternatively, from Almansa, take the CM 3220 towards Yecla. At km 11, turn left towards Olula, then right towards Catín/Olula, and follow the signs to Sierra Oliva. This route connects with the path from Caudete. Note: The ridge is lined with wind turbines, but they do not obstruct flights. Maintain a safe distance during ridge soaring. For a quicker access route through the wind farm, follow the road past the landing area, continue straight for a couple of kilometers, and take the left fork near the first wind turbines. Park near the last turbine before the radio antenna. A short 50-meter path leads to the takeoff. The entire access road has been concreted after the wind farm construction, ensuring easy access.
