Irakli is an excellent location to combine beach relaxation with paragliding. The site offers stunning views of the bay, beach, and Cape Emine, making it a memorable flying experience.
The winds suitable for flying at Irakli range from 4 to 7 m/s. There are two takeoff points: a lower one used in winds above 5 m/s, located near a makeshift parking lot at the beginning of the beach, and a higher one that allows takeoff in lighter winds. The higher takeoff point can be reached by departing for Emona and then taking a dirt road to the left that leads to the runway.
In addition to ridge soaring, you might encounter thermals and balloons coming from the sea, which can help you gain over 300 meters in altitude above the slope. Under optimal conditions (ISI wind 5-6 m/s), you can fly to Cape Emine and back, and sometimes even reach Obzor and return.
