Parapente Ichirino Flight Area

Ichirino Flight Area is nestled in the foothills of Mt. Hakusan in Ishikawa Prefecture. This site offers a grand environment for paragliding, with good access via a gondola. The spacious, turf-covered slope is ideal for training, especially with the appropriate wind conditions. To get there by car, it takes about 50 minutes from either the Komatsu Ramp of the Hokuriku Expressway or the Kanazawa-Nishi Ramp. The flying season runs from late April to late November. The Ichirino Paraglider School operates here, providing training and support. You can contact them at info@ichirino.net or call 0761-96-7688. The check-in desk is open from 09:00 to 17:00. Pilots need to have an intermediate rating (ParaPro stage 4) or above. Membership fees are JY10,000 for the season or JY6,000 for a half-season starting in September. Visitors can fly for JY1,000 per day. The main takeoff area faces multiple directions (N, NE, E, SW, W, NW) and is situated at an altitude of 1,000 meters above sea level. The launch area is quite wide, though there is no launch deck provided. Flight conditions primarily support thermal soaring (90%) and ridge soaring. The altitude difference between the launch and landing zone is 450 meters, with a distance of 1,200 meters. Note that flying above the power company and reservoir is prohibited, and you must maintain an altitude of more than 100 meters when passing over them. The landing zone is 100 meters by 300 meters, flat, and situated at 550 meters above sea level. Landing on the upper part of the skiing ground is recommended for ease. Access from the landing zone to the launch area is quick, taking about 3 minutes by walking and gondola or car. Cross-country flights are not allowed at this site. Nearby, you can visit Tenryo Onsen, which offers an open-air bath, swimming pool, and Jacuzzi. Other amenities include a tennis court, barbecue garden, trekking course, and a radio-controlled car circuit. Hotels and restaurants are available for family groups.
