Hoch Ybrig, located in the Weglosen region of Switzerland, offers a delightful paragliding experience with a perfect infrastructure and a height difference of nearly 1000 meters between the launch and landing sites, both conveniently situated next to the cable car. This site is frequently used and is suitable for both soaring and medium cross-country flights. Access to the launch site is straightforward. From the base station in Weglosen, take the cable car to Hoch Ybrig, followed by a chairlift to Sternen. The main launch site, used primarily in summer, is a grassy slope situated just above the chairlift station. In winter, a launch piste is often prepared by the lift operators to the left of the mountain station. After launching, you can either head towards the ridge below the launch site, slightly to the left, or fly towards Weglosen to utilize the thermals. When flying towards Euthal, be mindful of the shooting range and check the current and next day's status on Skyguide (KOSIF). Additionally, watch out for rotors if the wind is blowing up from Muothatal or due to thermal updrafts. While flying towards Weglosen, avoid flying too low over the alp due to the presence of various transport cables that are difficult to see. Near Weglosen, be cautious of the transport cable to the north. Flying over this cable can be dangerous due to significant turbulence near the rocks, which has led to many rescue deployments.
