Description

Herlisberg, located in the Luzerner Seetal region of Central Switzerland, offers a unique paragliding experience. The launch site is situated at an elevation of 735 meters, making it a regularly used spot for paragliders. The area is particularly known for its Bisensoaring conditions, with some potential for cross-country flights. Top landing is generally straightforward here. Please note the special regulations for the Herlisberg launch site, which can be found [here](https://www.shv-fsvl.ch/fileadmin/files/redakteure/Allgemein/Sicherheit/Luftraum/CTRTMA/Sonderregelung_LSZO.pdf). Herlisberg is an ideal location for flying in Bise conditions, especially when the wind is from the northeast at around 15 km/h. During the winter months, from mid-November to mid-March, you can fly without any restrictions. However, from mid-March to mid-November, you need to check by phone whether flying is permitted. The Minder family, who manage the site, do not provide wind condition updates. You can reach them at 041/930 03 10. On Bise days, the lowest sign on the pole will indicate whether flying is allowed. This information is regularly updated by the Minder family, and it is crucial to adhere to these updates. When launching, please start at the very front of the ridge, at the height of the wind sock. Soaring is typically only possible with stronger winds, around 15 km/h or more. Avoid ground handling in tall grass. Most landings are top landings on the flight site. After flying, a fee of 5 Swiss Francs is to be paid, which goes to the Minder family. There is a collection box at the wind sock pole for this purpose. This fee covers land use, compensation for any damage caused by pilots, phone inquiries, and the updating of the information board by the Minder family. Herlisberg is conveniently close to Hochdorf and the city of Lucerne. The site is managed by the Paragliding Club of Lucerne and is only flown in northeast wind conditions (Bise). To ensure continued access to this site, it is important to follow all the provided guidelines and agreements.
