Parapente Hamilton's Gap

Hamilton's Gap is situated near the top of the Manukau South Head. To reach it, continue past Matakawau towards the Manukau Heads lighthouse and take the next left onto Hamilton Road. Launch points are available on both sides of the gap, with the more favorable spot being to the right, just past the toilet block. This site is often flyable in light wind conditions when Karioitahi is not. Landing is on the beach. The optimal wind direction for this site is South West. There are no restrictions or cautions for this site. However, it is located within controlled airspace (CTA/C) with a height restriction of 1500 feet above sea level. Access conditions require contacting the site monitor, as the farmer who owns the land on the left side of the gap does not permit unauthorized access.
