Description
Hällsvik is a coastal ridge soaring site located between Hällsvik and Hjuvik. It offers a stunning view of Vinga, the harbor entrance, and both the southern and northern archipelagos. This site is regularly used for local soaring flights.
Type of Site: Ridge Soaring
License Requirement: Pilot 2
Wind Directions: South, South-East
Launch Altitude: 35 meters above sea level
Height Difference: 35 meters
How to Get There: Drive towards Hjuvik's pier. Turn left on the last road before the water. Follow the road through the residential area. After a large dip with a steep hill on the left, you can park on the right in a parking lot. Walk back to the hill, and on the right side, there is a hole in the fence to enter the old military area.
Launch Information: There is plenty of space, and several spots work well for launching. Be cautious of the barbed wire fence when you start.
Landing Information: Top landing is best. Although landing at the bottom has not been tried, there are large rocky areas that should work.
Local Information: Coastal ridge at the old shooting range between Hällsvik and Hjuvik.
