Height: 15 meters, Length: 4000 meters, easy level. Frequently used with winds ranging from 20 to 35 km/h. This site is popular for easy coastal flying and is also utilized for school training.

The main takeoff is just two minutes by foot from the parking lot. Takeoff is possible up to 25 km/h from above. For higher winds, if you do not have a miniwing, try launching from the beach. Walking a bit ENE, the ridge becomes rounder, making the launch phase longer for more control. There are no significant obstacles on the beach.
Toplanding is generally safe as lee turbulence is far behind the ridge.
To get there, head to Brunbjerg / Halk Strand. Look for the sign 'Militær Skydebane' (military shooting range). If you see a red ball on the pole, leave immediately as shooting is in progress and flying is not allowed. The slopes are up to 20 meters high and stretch approximately 1500 meters from Brunbjerg to Halk beach. In good conditions, you can fly on to Halk head. Start and landing conditions are excellent at Brunbjerg on the military shooting range, with meadows and sand slopes. The area is suitable for topstart and landing, and the beach is also a good landing spot.
Directions: From the north on highway E45, take exit 67 at Haderslev N. In Haderslev, turn right at the bypass signposted 'Industrial Syd', then turn left towards Årøsund, and right towards Halk. In Halk, turn right onto Brunbjerg road, signposted towards 'shooting range'. Pass two wind turbines that are close together and turn right towards the 2 windmills, signposted 'Military Shooting range'. The car park is at the foot of the last mill. If there is activity on the shooting range, head down to the campsite and start from the beach.

Often, if you call the Shooting Office (tel. in link), you may find that they have finished ahead of time, allowing you to fly.
This site is suitable for both inexperienced and experienced pilots. There are good opportunities for ground handling both at the starting area and further west on the low end of the slope. When there is no high tide, there is plenty of space on the beach for landing.
On good days, you can fly approximately 3.5 km from the starting point in a NE direction to Halk Hoved, which requires careful flying and experience on parts of the route. In strong winds, you can make bottom starts from the beach.
