From Klosters, take the cable car to Gotschnagrat. The launch site is a moderately steep grassy hill.
In winter, if you're looking for good thermals, Gotschnagrat is the place to be. With a good base, cross-country flights are a given, except towards the southwest. You can fly over Silvretta into Montafon, or even reach Inntal or Unterengadin.
The cable car in Klosters quickly takes you to launch height, offering large, comfortable, and technically simple flights in a stunning alpine landscape. Due to the exposed location of Gotschna, always keep an eye on the weather.
On the north side, you can soar ideally, especially in the reliable wind funnel over the approach to the Vereina Tunnel. Thermals can be found here even in winter, and from March onwards, either over the south slopes, above the forest, or from late morning on the opposite side, i.e., on the slopes north of Klosters. With good thermal potential and high cloud base, spring and summer offer fantastic cross-country opportunities, usually via Jakobshorn in all directions except southwest. Day passes are 20.- cheaper than those in Davos. Klosters also offers great après-flight options.
In west wind conditions, which bring bad weather to the whole of northern and southern Switzerland, this area remains well-protected for a longer time.
