Description
Located in the Trebinje region of Bosnia and Herzegovina, this paragliding site offers a take-off point at the very top of Gljiva Hill, overlooking the city of Trebinje. The site has an elevation of 998 meters with a height difference of 820 meters. It is regularly used for thermal soaring, and cross-country (XC) flights are possible. The site record is 34.4 km.
Please note that the region has some challenges. Earthquakes are possible, and there are numerous minefields in former combat zones from the 1991-95 war, particularly in Slavonia, the hinterland between Zadar and Split (former Krajina), and the mountainous areas southeast of Dubrovnik. These minefields are not always clearly marked. Additionally, there are environmental damages from the war, including forests affected by acid rain and the destruction of wetlands along the Sava River due to agriculture, drainage, land reclamation, and water pollution.
