Directions: From Seewen, take the main road towards Sattel until you reach the castle. Turn right and continue for about 3.5 km to the farm. From there, walk south to the launch site. The launch site is a steep meadow, particularly thermally active in spring.
The Engelstock is located above Steinen/SZ near the well-known Hochstuckli ski area, above Sattel. The Grosse and Kleine Mythen are within reach under good meteorological conditions. The flight to Seewen by the Lauerzersee offers stunning views.
In spring, from March to June, excellent thermals prevail, allowing you to ascend up to 2500 meters above sea level. Short cross-country flights towards Rigi and Mythen are possible.
Starting Point: From Mostelegg, you can traverse to Engelstock in about 30 minutes without significant elevation gain. From the Sattel Hochstuckli cable car station, it takes about 1.5 hours to reach the summit.
Route Description: From the top station of the Stuckli Rondo gondola, the path leads westward. You can enjoy views over Sattel and the Aegerital. Various fire pits and the 'Forest and Wildlife' station offer plenty of variety for family outings. Soon, you can see the Rigi and Lauerzersee before the forest provides welcome shade again. At the next clearing, you can see the Schwyz basin, Lake Lucerne, and the Alpine peaks. Continuing through the sparse beech forest, the mighty rock towers of the Mythen rise at the forest's edge.
