Description
Located at an altitude of 1481 meters, this paragliding site in Switzerland is known for its challenging conditions and is rarely used. The launch area is a cliff start with limited space due to a nearby fence, making it suitable primarily for experienced pilots. The site is often used for soaring.
The landing zones are in Vallée de Joux, either at Lac de Brêt or Les Charbonnières, and in Vallorbe, above the ice rink.
The takeoff is generally difficult because the cliff causes the wind to deviate vertically, resulting in poor airflow for inflating the wing. Additionally, the terrain slopes slightly upward, requiring pilots to be airborne before reaching the ramp. Assistance from another person to help you run and pull you by hand can be beneficial, but they must remember to let go once you are airborne. There is also a ramp available for hang gliders.
